The Shofar & Humility 

According to Wikipedia,  “A shofar (Hebrew: שופר‎) is a horn, traditionally that of a ram, used for Jewish religious purposes. Shofar-blowing is incorporated in synagogue services on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Shofar come in a variety of sizes.”

“A bent shofar symbolizes humility, a necessary attribute of the penitent. The hollowed shofar represent the goal of minimizing one’s ego to make room for holiness, symbolized by the air that rushes through the horn.”
